UMICORE ANTITARNISH 617

Umicore Antitarnish 617 is an tarnish protection process for precious metals, especially silver. Based on nanotechnology, this antitarnish process is applied in a thin layer through a simple immersion method. This long-lasting invisible layer protects the base material from oxidation, discoloration and mechanical stress. Color and brightness are not impacted. The coating is chemically resistant, dirt and water repellent and has a long lifespan. For these reasons the process is very well suited to decorative purposes. This silver tarnish protection is biologically safe, skin-friendly and hypoallergenic. It creates a good feel and also prevents scratches and wear. But it still facilitates subsequent sanding and polishing.
The tarnish protection is suitable for rack and barrel plating.
